Third Assignment

1) Since I have seen one other movie the Notebook by Nicholas Sparks I do see similarities in this book. For one thing the author almost always bases his books in South Carolina probably because that is where he lived or just because he likes the area. Another similarity is that this is also a love story but what makes it new in a way is that there is suspense.

2) There are a couple of reasons why my book could be considered "old news". For one thing it is a love story and don't we all know that there have been tons of stories written that are based around love. Another aspect that could make my book "old news" is the fact that there are two best friends and one likes the other for a long time but never gets up the nerve to tell them and then at some point have to compete to get the girl. A third aspect that relates to the second one in a way is a classic "old news" topper and that is that the guy usually always get the girl in the end and although I haven't gotten to the end I hope Julie ends up with Mike.

3) I think if a new writer came along and wanted to try and make up a completely mew story the only way he or she could do that if they thought way out of the box to come up with something no one has ever read before.
