1) The main characters in this book is Julie Barenson. Julie is a woman who is going through a rough time since she just lost her husband so she is in a way grieving and it seems like for the moment she is out of touch with life in general. To help cope with her loss before her husband dies he gives her a puppy which she receives after he has passed away so he helps her to get through the rough time. To support this there is a passage on roman numeral page 12 (xii) that says... Jim's dead, and now that he's gone, I feel like I'm dead, too.
2) Honestly if I had to compare myself to any one in the book that I've found so far it would have to be Julie's dog Singer and here's why. Like Singer I am aware when others are feeling down and try to comfort them when the time is right. Also, he is kind of funny and do things that make Julie laugh, I as well like to do funny things to make people laugh. Ways that I am not alike are that he can smell and I can't and he is a dog, while I am a human being.
3) If I were Julie Barenson I think that at first all I would see is dark, gloomy, depressing colors while I were grieving, but as time went on the colors for me would change to more bright sunny colors because I were becoming happy and going on with my life. Honestly I don't think I would hear anything or if I did they would be very quiet, almost to the point where I could barely hear what is being said. The smell for me would be still almost like after a rainstorm and everything is wet and humid in a way. If I were Julie I would feel empty inside because I lost the person who made me whole.
